Iran attacks US airbase in Saudi Arabia, leaving many wounded

At least 12 American service members were wounded in the Iranian attack on Prince Sultan Air Base . Two of them are in serious condition.
CNN and Reuters reported this, citing sources in the American authorities.
According to one official, some of the wounded suffered shrapnel injuries that were not life-threatening. Meanwhile, military equipment, including a tanker aircraft, was damaged during the attack.
According to The New York Times , the attack was a combined effort – Iran used both missiles and drones. According to the publication, this is one of the most serious breaches of American air defenses in recent memory.
In addition to the wounded, aircraft sustained significant damage—at least two KC-135 Stratotanker tanker aircraft.
According to Reuters, more than 300 American soldiers have been wounded and 13 killed since the start of the war against Iran.
Trump earlier said the US and Iran had held talks, following which he ordered a five-day halt to the strikes .
Subsequently, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that there were no direct negotiations with the United States , and Trump did not abandon his military plans.
