Iranian ships left China carrying chemicals that could be used in Iran’s ballistic missile program and were intercepted at a Chinese port before being shipped to Iran.

This is reported by The Washington Post .

Journalists note that these are the Shabdis and Barzin vessels. According to analysts, these ships can carry 6,500 and 14,500 20-foot containers, respectively.

The ships docked at Gaolan Port in Zhuhai, which experts said is used to load chemicals, including sodium perchlorate.

“Gaolan is a loading port for chemicals, including sodium perchlorate, which is a key precursor to solid rocket fuel. It is desperately needed by Iran for its missile program,” experts said.

Journalists note that sodium perchlorate is an important component for the production of solid rocket fuel, which is used in ballistic missiles.

According to preliminary data, the ships may be heading to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.

Analysts also note that such a delivery may indicate a change in China’s foreign policy approach. Previously, Beijing tried to avoid any confrontation with the United States, particularly on issues related to the Middle East.

It was previously reported that American intelligence suggests that China may provide Iran with financial assistance, spare parts, and missile components amid the war.

According to US intelligence, Russia also provides Iran with intelligence on the movements of US troops, ships and aircraft . In particular, Moscow transmits satellite images from its own orbital systems.
