Iran has put forward five preliminary conditions to the US for starting a new round of negotiations and stated that there will be no dialogue without their fulfillment.
This was reported by Fars, citing an informed source.
According to the interlocutor, Tehran has conveyed to the American side the minimum requirements for restoring trust and returning to the negotiation process.
Among the main conditions are an end to the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, the lifting of sanctions against Iran, the unfreezing of Iranian assets, compensation for war losses, and recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran emphasizes that without the practical implementation of these points, no new negotiations with the US are possible.
Iran also conveyed through a Pakistani intermediary that the continuation of the naval blockade in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman even after the ceasefire only increased distrust of Washington.
According to sources, the American 14-point proposal was unilateral and primarily took into account US interests.
Tehran believes that Washington is trying to achieve the goals it failed to achieve during the war through negotiations.
It was previously reported that the US and Iran may soon agree on a basic agreement that should stop tensions in the region and pave the way for full-fledged negotiations on the nuclear program.
Recall, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the completion of the military operation against Iran called Epic Fury, which had been ongoing since February.
