Iran has announced its readiness to resume ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. To do this, Tehran is demanding that the United States ease military pressure and lift the blockade of Iranian ports.

This was reported by Reuters, citing a senior Iranian official.

According to him, the Iranian delegation, currently in New York at the UN General Assembly, has the authority to restore diplomatic contacts with the United States.

The Iranian side insists that Washington should officially declare its intention to resolve the disputes diplomatically and agree on a further schedule for negotiations.

“The US should announce that they want to resolve this issue diplomatically, make it official, and then agree on a timetable for the further development of this process,” the Iranian representative said.

According to Reuters, Tehran submitted its proposal to cease hostilities to the American side through intermediaries on September 16 .

Further details of potential agreements are planned to be discussed during meetings in New York with the participation of international mediators.

At the same time, the Iranian military command stated that it had received information about possible US preparations to resume military operations with the support of regional countries. Tehran warned that it was ready to respond in the event of new forceful actions.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also arrived in New York to attend the UN General Assembly. His meeting with US President Donald Trump is not currently scheduled.

As a reminder, earlier “Pryamiy” wrote about the US conditions for lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz . At that time, Washington demanded a number of steps from Tehran, in particular in the nuclear sphere.

In addition, in early September, the US struck three Iranian tankers after another escalation between the parties.
