Iran could attack US data centers, communications cables and artificial intelligence infrastructure in the Middle East if large-scale hostilities resume. Tehran has also said that a protracted war with the US is beneficial to Iran.

This was stated by Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in an interview with Drop Site.

According to him, the US risks getting bogged down in a war of attrition, while Iran has enough resources to continue fighting. Rezaei stressed that the country’s military potential should not be assessed solely by the number of missiles in its arsenal.

He explained that Tehran has been developing underground military facilities, decentralizing weapons production, and creating reserve capacity for years, allowing Iran to continue producing weapons even after strikes on military infrastructure.

The Iranian official also warned that in the event of a new escalation of the conflict, Tehran may expand the list of targets for attacks.

In particular, American data centers, communication cables, and facilities that support artificial intelligence systems in the region may be under attack.

In addition, Rezaei threatened attacks on the energy infrastructure of the Persian Gulf countries if they help Washington maintain the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to him, the states of the region should not expect to be able to maintain economic pressure on Iran and at the same time avoid strikes on their own infrastructure.

At the same time, Rezaei assured that Tehran does not seek to destroy the Middle East’s energy system, but is ready to attack the facilities of countries that will facilitate US actions against Iran.
