Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has threatened the United States with a hike in gasoline prices after US President Donald Trump’s statements to block the Strait of Hormuz.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
“Enjoy the current gas prices. Soon you will be nostalgic about cheap gas at $4-5,” his post reads.
It is worth noting that the official also attached a photo showing gas station signs around the White House in Washington.
Among other things, Ghalibaf confirmed that the negotiation process between Iran and the United States is at an impasse. According to him, this is due to Tehran’s lack of trust in Washington due to “the experience of two previous wars.”
He added that the Iranian side offered the Americans “constructive proposals”, however, no agreement could be reached.
“They ultimately failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of negotiations,” the speaker concluded.
Recall, Trump previously stated that the country’s Navy will soon begin the process of blocking ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz.
By the way, the US president reported that American forces are beginning the process of “cleaning” the Strait of Hormuz .
