American intelligence intercepted conversations between senior Iranian officials in which they discussed minor destruction of nuclear facilities after the US bombing.

This was reported in the Washington Post, citing its own sources.

A US intelligence source told WP that in the conversation, Iranian officials discussed the US strikes and reflected on why they were not as destructive as expected.

The White House did not deny that such interception of conversations between Iranians really existed. However, it criticized the journalists and reported on the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program.

“It’s a shame that The Washington Post is helping people commit crimes by publishing out-of-context leaks. The notion that unnamed Iranian officials know what happened under hundreds of feet of rubble is nonsense. Their nuclear weapons program is complete,” said White House press secretary Caroline Levitt.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence said that one fragment of the intercepted conversations does not reflect the full picture.

“A single phone call between unnamed Iranians is not the same as an intelligence assessment that considers the totality of evidence from multiple sources,” a senior intelligence official said.

As a reminder, the United States Air Force attacked Iran’s nuclear infrastructure , including the most protected facility in Fordow. Later, Pentagon chief Pete Haggett said that the United States’ strikes had succeeded in destroying Iran’s nuclear program .

Earlier, US President Donald Trump assured that he was ready to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities again if necessary .
