Iranian ship involved in transporting weapons to Russia crashes in Caspian Sea – media

On Wednesday, January 14, coastal services received a report that the Iranian bulk carrier Rona had suffered an accident in the waters of the Caspian Sea.

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

According to the agency, there were 14 people on the ship — citizens of Iran and India. All crew members were rescued.

As the Russian publication “Important Stories” notes , Iran used a dry cargo ship to transport weapons and equipment to Russia.

Resources that track the movement of cargo ships note that Rona has repeatedly called at Russian ports — Astrakhan, Makhachkala, and Azov.

As a reminder, in the Black Sea off the Russian coast , drones attacked four oil tankers heading to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.
