Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has expressed his readiness to hold talks with the United States .

This was reported by the Israeli publication Ynet .

According to sources, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sent a response signal to Donald Trump’s special representative , Steve Witkoff .

“We have received Mojtaba Khamenei’s consent and blessing to resolve this issue as soon as possible if our conditions are met,” journalists quote the sources as saying.

Donald Trump previously stated that an agreement with Iran could be reached within five days or even less. He claimed that the initiative to reach an agreement came from Tehran.

As a reminder, Iran launched a missile strike on the US-British military base of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Although no hits were made, the missiles’ range, which traveled approximately 4,000 km, raised concerns among US allies .

Incidentally, Iran carried out a drone attack on a French military base in Makhmour, Iraq, on Thursday, March 12.

Iran previously launched a ballistic missile attack on the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan , which houses German troops. US forces are also stationed at the base.
