Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei not appearing in public due to injury – media

Injuring Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei may prevent him from appearing in public. This is indicated by the lack of video or audio messages from the Iranian leadership.

This is reported by Bloomberg , citing a statement by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

According to the Pentagon chief , only a written statement was released the day before on behalf of Iran’s new leader , Mojtaba Khamenei . The address did not include a video or voice recording.

Hegset noted that this may indicate a more serious health condition than previously reported .

He also questioned the reasons why the appeal was published only in text format .

There are a lot of cameras and recorders in Iran ,” the US Defense Secretary said .

According to Hegset, the injuries sustained may prevent Khamenei from speaking publicly.

The minister also stated that after the death of Iran’s previous supreme leader , the situation in the country appears unstable.

It’s a mess for them . Who’s in charge? Iran might not even know,” he added .

It was previously reported that Iran’s newly elected Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was injured on the first day of the US and Israeli military operation.

As a reminder, the Assembly of Experts of Iran, at an extraordinary meeting, elected Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei as the country’s new supreme leader . He became the third spiritual leader of the republic after the death of his father.
