The Irish government has decided to provide Ukraine with €25 million to support its energy infrastructure. The funds are intended to help during the heating outages caused by Russian attacks.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga reported that the relevant decision was made by the Irish government, and also thanked the Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defense, Helen McEntee, for her support.
According to the minister, the funding comes at a difficult time for Ukraine, when Russian attacks are causing problems with the operation of heating systems in communities across the country.
“This vital contribution comes at a critical time, as communities across Ukraine suffer from heating outages caused by Russian attacks during one of the harshest winters in recent years,” said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.
Recall that the European Union has allocated an additional 50 million euros to support Ukraine’s energy needs . The funds are to be used to stabilize the operation of the energy system in wartime conditions.
It was previously reported that during the “energy Ramstein” in the G7 format, Ukraine’s partners announced new assistance packages for the restoration of energy infrastructure. In particular, the United States is ready to provide over 400 million euros.
