Iryna Friz initiates consideration of information from the so-called “Mindich tapes” at the Committee on National Security and Defense

People’s Deputy from “European Solidarity” Iryna Friz appealed to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Oleksandr Zavitnevich, with a call to invite former Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and representatives of the Fire Point company to the next meeting.

According to her, such a conversation is critically necessary due to the public outcry surrounding the “Mindich tapes,” which called into question the transparency of procurement conducted by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Issues related to procurement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are very sensitive for society and for our defenders on the front, so the Committee must have a position at least within the framework of parliamentary oversight,” Friese emphasized.
She noted that if facts of manipulation or unfair competition in the defense-industrial sector are proven, all measures must be taken to stop such practices.
Co-chair of the European Solidarity faction Iryna Gerashchenko also stated that providing for the army is a matter of public trust and state security.
According to her, the Verkhovna Rada should assess the situation and ensure parliamentary control over procurement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and all suspicions of possible abuses should be subject to public scrutiny.
