Is Russia ready to cease fire now: Peskov gave the answer

Russia continues to reject Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposals for a ceasefire, stepping up air strikes.

“Now we have a strategic advantage. Why should we lose it? We will not lose it. We are moving forward. We are moving forward and will continue to move forward,” said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

Previously, the Russian side demanded the cessation of the supply of foreign aid to Ukraine as a prerequisite for a ceasefire.

“A ceasefire is a ceasefire, and you stop. But America doesn’t say ‘we will stop any supplies.’ The UK doesn’t say that either. France doesn’t say that either. That’s the problem,” Peskov added.

As a reminder, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga stated that 100 days have passed since Russia rejected the US proposal to implement a ceasefire .

Earlier, on May 30, during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Russia named the conditions for a ceasefire – a cessation of mobilization in Ukraine and a halt to supplies of Western weapons.

By the way, Russia demands that Ukraine destroy all Western weapons it received during the war.
