“It cannot and will never win”: Italian Defense Minister makes a sharp statement on the war in Ukraine

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said that only the one who started the war in Ukraine can end it. According to him, Ukraine cannot win the war and is now just trying to survive.

Crosetto expressed his opinion on the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine. He alluded to Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that only the one who started the war can end it.

He emphasized that Italy, Ukraine, Europe, and NATO did not start the war. He emphasized that someone started it, and only that party can decide whether it will end.

“Italy did not start this war, Ukraine did not start this war, Europe did not start this war, NATO did not start this war. Someone started it and only that person can end it or not end it tomorrow,” said Guido Crosetto.

Crosetto also stated that since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, the aggressor state’s troops have captured a meager one and a half percent of Ukraine’s territory. He noted that this has come at the cost of thousands of deaths every day.

In his opinion, Ukraine will not be able to defeat this enemy. He added that Ukraine is trying to survive, and the real victory is to persevere.

“Ukraine cannot and will never win the war. Ukraine is trying to survive. Ukraine’s real victory is for it to survive today,” said Guido Crosetto.

By the way, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that the war unleashed by Russia will end in 2026 .

Recall that, according to the assessments of the US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, after the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in France, there has been significant progress in resolving the war in Ukraine.

As is known, the draft communiqué of the Coalition of the Willing meeting states that the United States will help ensure a ceasefire in Ukraine through intelligence and logistics.
