“It was news to me”: Zelenskyy commented on Trump’s statement on the energy truce

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to agree to an energy truce with Russia. At the same time, he noted that US President Donald Trump’s statement about a corresponding agreement was news for Kyiv.

As is known, Trump stated that Ukraine and Russia had allegedly agreed to stop attacking each other’s energy facilities. However, before this statement, the Ukrainian side was not aware of such an agreement.
Zelenskyy admitted to reporters that the American president’s message surprised him.
“It was news to me. But if the Russians agree to an energy truce, Ukraine will agree,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine also asked the American side to clarify when exactly the ceasefire should begin.
“If President Trump has agreed on this with Putin, please tell us when the ceasefire begins. We are ready, and we will accept it,” Zelensky stressed.
By the way, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of an energy truce in the war between Ukraine and Russia . According to him, both sides agreed to stop attacks on energy facilities.
It was previously reported that Russia is demanding that the United States lift sanctions as part of talks on a possible energy truce with Ukraine . Moscow is also trying to link this initiative to a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
