US President Donald Trump said he would host Armenian Prime Minister Nikolai Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House to sign a peace agreement.

He wrote about this on his account on the social network Truth Social.

Trump said he was looking forward to meeting the leaders of both countries tomorrow in Washington for a “historic peace summit.” He said Armenia and Azerbaijan had been at war for years, killing thousands, and despite the efforts of many international mediators, the conflict was only now being resolved, thanks to Trump.

The US President stressed that his administration had been negotiating with both sides for a long time. He confirmed that Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan would arrive at the White House to attend the peace agreement signing ceremony. Bilateral agreements on economic cooperation between the US and each country are also planned.

Trump said he was proud of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan who were “making the right choice for their people.” He added that it would be a historic day not only for the two countries and the United States, but for the entire world.

Recall that US President Donald Trump plans to hold talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House on August 8.

Let us recall that, against the backdrop of worsening relations with Azerbaijan, Russia began to expand its military presence in Armenia.

As reported, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev publicly accepted Ukrainian military chevrons as a gift and thanked the Ukrainian Armed Forces for their fight . His words of support for Ukraine’s actions immediately caused a wave of indignation among Russian propagandists.

By the way, the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated that the country’s authorities should seriously consider the issue of suspending the broadcasting of Russian TV channels on the territory of Armenia.
