Italian Defense Minister Offers Fedorov the Position of His Advisor: Details

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said he offered former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov the position of his advisor after his dismissal. According to the Italian minister, Fedorov accepted the offer as a sign of respect and friendship.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said that he contacted Mykhailo Fedorov the day after his dismissal from the post of Defense Minister of Ukraine and offered him a job as an advisor in Rome.

“I called him the day after he was fired and said, ‘When do you want to come to Rome and work with me as an advisor?’” Crosetto said.

According to the Italian minister, Fedorov was touched by this proposal and perceived it as a “demonstration of respect and friendship.”

Crosetto also highly praised the former Ukrainian minister’s contribution to the development of military technology.

“He was one of those people who completely rewrote the rules of the game on the battlefield,” the minister said, adding that Fedorov helped Ukraine first deter the Russian invasion and later seize the initiative through the introduction of new technologies and changing approaches to warfare.

Recall that Mykhailo Fedorov, who supporters credit with developing Ukraine’s unmanned technology and advancing defense sector reforms, was fired as defense minister this month. President Volodymyr Zelensky later offered him other government positions, but Fedorov said he would not accept any other government position other than the one he held previously .
