Italy is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine and will continue to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia. Rome also remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s security, defense, and reconstruction.

This was announced by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

The Italian Foreign Minister announced the new assistance after a conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

Tajani did not specify what exactly would be included in the new package, but he confirmed that Italy would continue to support European Union sanctions against Russia.

“We will continue to work to maintain maximum pressure on Moscow,” the minister said.

According to him, the Italian government also fully supports efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace as soon as possible.

Separately, Tajani emphasized the strategic importance of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean for global food security and uninterrupted exports of Ukrainian grain.

As a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, the Italian Foreign Minister also ordered the ministry building to be illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

It has previously been reported that the UK is developing new long-range missiles for Ukraine that will not contain American components and could enter service within a year. According to sources, the new systems will be cheaper than the Storm Shadow missiles and will have a range of over 500 kilometers.

Recall, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said that London would allow declassification of data on British components of the Storm Shadow missile so that Ukraine could use these technologies to develop its own production of long-range weapons.
