‘It’s a Horrible Story, Isn’t It?’: Stephen King on Trump’s Presidency

Ahead of the UK release of the film Life of Chuck, based on the short story by Stephen King, the writer gave an interview to The Guardian in which he touched on the subject of Donald Trump’s presidency.

When asked what the “endgame of Trump’s America” might be like if he had written it, the writer noted:

“I think it would be impeachment – which I think would be a good ending. I would like to see him resign, so to speak. A bad ending would be that he gets a third term and takes over completely. It’s a terrible story either way. Trump is a terrible story, isn’t he?”

This isn’t the first time King has criticized the current president. In February of this year, he called him a “Putin-loving traitor” on social media site X, adding that “this is twice as much about Elon.”
