Jeep and ANTONOV team up to create a unique vehicle

Jeep and ANTONOV will create a unique Wrangler AN-J001 vehicle for the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. The basis will be the production Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, and the design of the vehicle will be supplemented with elements inspired by Ukrainian aviation.

The Jeep and ANTONOVA teams will work on the vehicle over the coming months. Specialists from the Ukrainian aircraft company will also be involved in the development of individual elements of the vehicle.

The companies have not yet revealed what the finished Wrangler AN-J001 will look like. It is known that its design will use typical solutions of the Ukrainian aviation school.

The name AN-J001 is also associated with two brands. AN refers to ANTONOV’s aircraft and engineering heritage, J stands for Jeep, and 001 indicates that the vehicle will be the first and only one in its series.

“For us, the project within the framework of the partnership with ANTONOV is an opportunity to combine a strong international brand with a unique Ukrainian aviation heritage and create a unique car, the only one of its kind in the world,” said Ruslan Akimov, director of Stellantis Ukraine.

The Wrangler AN-J001 will be built in just one copy, making it a collector’s car. The company promises to reveal design details, technical features, and the car’s future fate at a later date.
