Belarus, together with Russia, has begun military exercises to practice the delivery of nuclear weapons and preparations for their use.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus reported this.
On Monday, May 18, military units responsible for the use and maintenance of nuclear weapons will begin exercises in Belarus.
The exercises are being conducted under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Muraveiko.
According to the Ministry of Defense, missile forces and aviation are involved in the exercises.
Together with Russian troops, they practice the movement and use of nuclear weapons. The focus is on increasing the combat readiness of personnel, technical inspection of weapons and military equipment, and practicing the use of weapons from unprepared areas of Belarus.
In particular, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus emphasizes that the exercises are planned in nature and do not pose a threat to other countries.
Earlier, “Pryamoy” reported that Zelensky noted that Ukraine has documented Russia’s attempts to further draw Belarus into the war against Ukraine and is aware of corresponding contacts between the Russian side and Alexander Lukashenko.
Alexander Lukashenko also increased the military budget fivefold and is demanding that security forces prepare for active combat operations on land, indicating his intention to use the country’s territory as a springboard for new military adventures.
