American singer and actor Justin Timberlake has revealed that he was diagnosed with Lyme disease while on his world tour. It is an infectious disease that affects the skin, joints and nervous system.
The musician announced this on his Instagram on July 31, immediately after the completion of the two-year Forget Tomorrow tour.
“I’ve been battling some health issues and was diagnosed with Lyme disease – I’m not sharing this to make you feel sorry for me, but to shed some light on what I was going through behind the scenes,” Timberlake wrote.
The singer notes that he was shocked by the diagnosis, but “at least I understood why I experienced severe nervous pain or just insane fatigue or nausea on stage.”
“I had a choice: stop touring or continue and figure things out. I decided that the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the temporary stress it puts on my body. I’m so glad I continued,” added Justin Timberlake.
