WBC interim heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel commented on the World Boxing Council’s decision to sanction his fight with WBC, WBA, and IBF titleholder Oleksandr Usyk .
The Ring reports this.
The German boxer emphasized that the final decision now rests with the Ukrainian, who has 30 days to agree to the fight.
Words can’t describe what this moment means to me. Now it’s all up to Usyk. He has 30 days to agree.
If he doesn’t do that, I will become a full-fledged WBC world champion,” Kabael said.
Earlier, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that the organization had officially sanctioned Usyk’s mandatory title defense against Kabal. If the parties fail to agree on the bout within the established timeframe, the WBC may make a further decision regarding the championship belt.
The WBC previously ordered Usyk to make a mandatory title defense against Kabayel.
