The family of TV presenter Anatoly Kashpirovsky, known for his televised healing sessions, plans to bury him in Ukraine.

Kashpirovsky’s nephew, Yuri, reported this to the Russian propaganda agency TASS.

According to preliminary information, the ceremony will take place in Vinnytsia. Kashpirovsky’s body will likely be transported to Ukraine via the European Union.

Relatives explained the decision to bury the TV presenter in Ukraine by saying that he was born here and began his career here.

Kashpirovsky died in early October at the age of 87. The preliminary cause of death was cardiac arrest. A year before his death, Russian Telegram channels reported that he had been hospitalized for cancer, but the TV host himself denied this.

Anatoly Kashpirovsky was born in 1939 in the village of Stavnytsia in the Khmelnytskyi region. He gained fame in the late 1980s thanks to his television programs, which he called “an act of specific psychotherapeutic influence” and attributed to them “healing properties.”

Kashpirovsky also served as a member of the first State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia. In Russia, he was prosecuted for his activities in the field of “folk medicine,” but the court acquitted him in 2016.
