Katsurina Restaurant Poisoning: 56 People in Hospitals

Police have begun investigating the mass poisoning of people in one of Lviv’s restaurants. At present, 56 people have sought medical help, including eight children.

The press service of the Lviv region police reported this.

According to law enforcement officials, as of 10:00 p.m. (July 16 – ed.), 43 people, including three children, sought medical attention for food poisoning.

Based on the fact, investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office, opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 325 (Violation of sanitary rules and regulations for the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisoning).

The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident, conducting expert examinations, and conducting a pre-trial investigation.

However, according to the Lviv City Council , 43 people, including 8 children, were hospitalized in the regional infectious diseases hospital during July 15-17 with a diagnosis of “acute intestinal infection and food poisoning.” All of them visited the China Hi restaurant.

Subsequently, it became known that 56 people were injured. The patients were admitted in moderate severity.

Let us recall that earlier restaurateur Misha Katsurin reported that he was poisoned in his own restaurant in Lviv . In addition to him, 11 other guests of the establishment reported similar symptoms.
