Kill the president: SBU reported attempts on Zelensky

Last year, an assassination attempt was made on the President of Ukraine at the Rzeszow airport in Poland.

This was stated by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, during a conversation with journalists, Suspilne reports .

It is noted that the assassination attempt was prevented by the Security Service of Ukraine in cooperation with Polish colleagues.

According to Malyuk, the Ukrainian president was supposed to be killed by a Polish military pensioner who “believed fervently in the Soviet idea.”

As explained by the Security Service, the pensioner planned to carry out the attack using a drone or a sniper complex. However, he was detained.

In addition, Malyuk shared details of the assassination attempt on Zelensky in Kyiv. It is assumed that UDO colonels who collaborated with the 5th Service of the Russian FSB may have been involved in it.

In particular, their task was to find those among people close to Zelensky who could eliminate him while he was moving around the President’s Office.

The SBU tried to infiltrate the intelligence group for almost two years. As it turned out, attempts were also being made to assassinate the head of the Ministry of Defense’s GUR, Kyrylo Budanov, and Vasyl Malyuk.

It was previously reported that the Security Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, together with Polish law enforcement officers, exposed a Russian agent who was offering Russian special services an assassination attempt on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky .
