With the Christmas and New Year holidays approaching, traffic at Polish-Ukrainian border checkpoints has increased dramatically – queues stretch for several kilometers, and waiting times in some places reach dozens of hours.

This was reported by RMF 24.

In particular, several hundred trucks were stuck at the Dorohusk border crossing on Sunday at 9 p.m. According to the reporter, the wait for customs clearance there lasted at least 33 hours.

The queues of cars stretched for about 10 kilometers — from the border checkpoint to the village of Okopy.

At the same time, there are no significant difficulties for buses. They go through the registration procedure in about an hour.

Truck drivers also face delays at other border crossings. It takes more than 38 hours to cross the border in Korchów. The shortest waiting time is two hours in Zosin.

There are also complications in crossing the border for cars. Leaving Poland through Korchow will take eight hours of waiting, about five hours in Budomierz, and three in Medyca.

The publication emphasizes that Polish inspectors are currently on the ground ensuring safety for road users.

Earlier, the State Border Service of Ukraine announced the temporary suspension of border crossing operations at the state border. The failure in the operation of the checkpoints occurred due to an enemy attack, which caused a problem with the power supply.
