King Charles III of Great Britain played a key role in convincing US President Donald Trump that Ukraine could win a war against Russia.

The Telegraph writes about this.

The King of Great Britain recently hosted Trump and the First Lady of the United States at Windsor Castle. They had lunch and dinner there, and also participated in a number of events where the King accompanied the distinguished guests.

At the state banquet, the monarch delivered a speech in which he made special mention of Ukraine.

“Our countries have a close defense, security, and intelligence relationship. In two world wars, we fought together against the forces of tyranny. Today, as tyranny again threatens Europe, we and our allies stand with Ukraine to deter aggression and ensure peace,” the monarch said, addressing Trump.

According to diplomatic sources, Charles and Trump discussed the war in Ukraine during their private talks.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized in a conversation with his European counterparts that Trump’s change in tone should be assessed “as positively as possible.”

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and identified the conditions under which Russia is losing the war against Ukraine.

As reported, US President Donald Trump made a number of sweeping statements during a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the most important of which was the admission that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had “let him down.” The American president openly admitted that he had expected an easier path to ending the war in Ukraine thanks to his own contacts with the Kremlin, but the situation turned out to be far more complex.
