King Harald V of Norway has died: who will inherit the throne?

King Harald V of Norway died on the morning of August 28 at the age of 89. The monarch passed away at the National Hospital in Oslo at 6:35 a.m. local time.
The Norwegian royal palace announced the king’s death.
The day before, Harald V’s condition had deteriorated sharply. On August 17, he was hospitalized, and on August 27, the palace announced that the monarch’s health had become very serious.
In the hospital, the king was accompanied by his closest family members – his wife Sonja, his son and heir to the throne Haakon, as well as other relatives.
Harald V became King of Norway in January 1991 after the death of his father, Olaf V. He reigned for over 35 years.
In particular, after the death of Harald V, the throne will be inherited by his son, Crown Prince Haakon. He is first in line to the Norwegian throne.
It was previously reported that King Harald V of Norway was being treated for a rare blood disease – hemolytic anemia.
