Restoring the Darnitsa Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv, which Russian occupiers damaged on February 3, will take at least two months, assuming no further strikes.

This was stated by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko.

According to him, the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant supplied heat to some residential buildings in the Darnytsia and Dniprovskyi districts—more than 1,100 multi-story buildings in total. On the morning of February 3, water was drained from the heating systems in these buildings to prevent them from freezing.

City authorities have published a list of buildings where heat will be unavailable until the Darnitsa Thermal Power Plant fully resumes operations.

Additional warming stations have been deployed in schools in neighborhoods without heat. In the Darnytskyi district, five such stations are operational, connected to mobile boiler stations, allowing people to stay there 24/7. In the Dniprovskyi district, four additional stations have been opened, in addition to those already in operation.

In addition, the State Emergency Service is deploying 36 warming stations in the Darnytskyi district and 27 in Dniprovskyi district. The locations of the stations are published on the official websites of the district state administrations, city authorities, and the State Emergency Service.

As a reminder, as of February 4, more than 1,100 apartment buildings in Kyiv remain without heat . More than 200 repair crews are working to restore heat, and their number is expected to increase in the near future.

As reported, a massive overnight attack in Kharkiv damaged Thermal Power Plant No. 5 and the Kharkivska and Zalyutino substations. Due to large-scale accidents at power facilities , a significant portion of the city was left without heat, and authorities declared a local man-made emergency.
