Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the situation in the capital is extremely difficult and the current moment may not be the worst.

He announced this on social media.

Klitschko urged Kyiv residents to stock up on food, water, and essential medications. He also advised those who can afford it to consider traveling outside the city to alternative power and heat sources.

The mayor also asked employers to introduce flexible work schedules and, where possible, to switch employees to remote work.

According to Klitschko, Russian troops are highly likely to continue attacks on critical infrastructure in Kyiv and other regions, so the city is preparing to respond to various scenarios.

He noted that district government administrations remain the first line of response to emergencies. They promptly collect information and coordinate local efforts in conjunction with the city headquarters.

The mayor emphasized that plans and action plans will be discussed with district leaders at a headquarters meeting in the near future in the event of further deterioration of the situation.
