Krapiva’s driver was released from pretrial detention on bail.
Serhiy Kutsyy, known in NABU documents by the nickname “Kamrad” and driver of Serhiy Krapiva, a defendant in the Carthage case, posted UAH 3 million in bail and was released from pretrial detention.
The Anti-Corruption Action Center and the Public reported this.
Following his dismissal, the court imposed a number of procedural obligations on Kutsy. He must respond to every summons from a detective, prosecutor, or court, report any changes in residence or employment, surrender his passports for travel abroad, and wear an electronic bracelet.
Kutsom was also prohibited from communicating with certain individuals, including Serhiy Krapiva and Yelizaveta Ivakhnenko. After posting bail, he withdrew his appeal with the help of his defense attorney, and the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) accepted this refusal.
According to investigators, Kutsiy was a member of a criminal organization linked to Krapiva. Specifically, he provided security for Krapiva’s travel and meetings, used unregistered license plates, received money from individuals associated with call centers, and transferred it to Krapiva.
Investigators also believe that Kutsiy helped Krapiva maintain contact with other members of the organization, participated in the laundering of funds, and carried out his orders.
The High Anti-Corruption Court previously remanded Serhiy Krapiv into custody with bail set at UAH 120 million in connection with the “Carthage” case, which concerns the alleged protection of fraudulent call centers and the laundering of assets.
As a reminder, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced that he had signed a notice of suspicion for NABU Director Semyon Krivonos .
As is known, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation on September 7. He called it a conscious political decision.
As a reminder, the charges against Kravchenko are related to a high-profile corruption scandal that arose as a result of the NABU and SAPO’s special operation “Carthage.” As part of this investigation, anti-corruption agencies uncovered a criminal organization that was “protecting” a network of fraudulent call centers.
According to investigators, the center of this scheme was Serhiy Kropiva, the deputy head of the International Cooperation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, who had friendly relations with Ruslan Kravchenko. Krapiva was arrested on September 4. The following day, September 5, Serhiy Krapiva was taken into custody .
