Kravchenko is the new Prosecutor General: Zelensky signed a decree

Today, June 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

This is evidenced by the decree published on the website of the head of state.

“Appoint Ruslan Andreevich Kravchenko as Prosecutor General,” reads the text of presidential decree No. 416/2025.

What is known about Kravchenko?

Kravchenko was the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration from 2023 to 2024. He also headed the Bucha District Prosecutor’s Office since 2021.

Before that, he worked as a military prosecutor. In 2019-2020, he applied for the position of SAP prosecutor, and subsequently took part in the competition for the position of head of NABU. He was awarded the Order of Merit, 3rd degree.

From December 31, 2024, he was appointed head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine.

It is worth noting that Kravchenko was the prosecutor in the case where Yanukovych was found guilty of treason and aiding in the conduct of the war.

Let us recall that on June 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the appointment of Ruslan Kravchenko as Prosecutor General of Ukraine .

Let us recall that the day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a motion to appoint Ruslan Kravchenko to the post of Prosecutor General.

As reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees appointing former Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin as Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
