The specific date and location of a possible meeting between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump remain unclear, though the Kremlin has consistently insisted that Putin is willing to hold talks with the American leader.

The Russian dictator’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, quoted by Russian propaganda media, has once again stated the potential possibility of such negotiations, trueua.info reports .

“There are no specific agreements yet, but the general readiness for a meeting, if it is previously agreed upon by experts, remains,” Ushakov noted.

At the same time, he could not answer whether the meeting could take place before the end of the year.

“I don’t know, I can’t say. You remember how quickly we agreed on Anchorage. Perhaps this time the situation will repeat itself,” the Kremlin representative added.

A few days earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed in an interview with the Hungarian YouTube channel Ultrahang that the Kremlin does not rule out talks between Putin and Trump in the future. However, according to him, the initiative now depends entirely on Washington’s position.

“There is an initiative, and we are, they say, polite people. If we are invited, we will agree on the format, place and time,” Lavrov said.

He also recalled that on October 23, Donald Trump announced the cancellation of the invitation during a speech at the White House.

“Later, the American side clarified that it was not about cancellation, but about postponement. So now everything depends on the initiator,” the minister added.

It is known that on October 20, Lavrov had a telephone conversation with American politician Marco Rubio. During the discussion, the US representative emphasized the need to continue the dialogue between Washington and Moscow in order to find ways to end the war against Ukraine. However, the Russian minister categorically rejected the possibility of an immediate cessation of hostilities.

The United States then postponed Lavrov’s planned meeting with Rubio and suspended preparations for the talks between Trump and Putin, which were scheduled to take place in Budapest.

Recall that US intelligence agencies differed in their assessments of Vladimir Putin’s readiness to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine . While CIA analysts were more optimistic, the State Department doubted the Russian dictator’s willingness to compromise.

We also previously reported that with the rise to power of Vladimir Putin, Russia has become a totalitarian state, and the dictator himself is increasingly wary of losing control over the country. Experts note that the fear of a coup indicates the weakness of his regime .
