Kremlin awaits new reinforcements: North Korea to send thousands of troops

More than 2,000 North Korean soldiers have already died in the war in Ukraine, fighting on the side of Russia.

This was reported by the Yonhap agency, citing South Korean intelligence.

According to analysts, the DPRK does not plan to stop. Pyongyang is preparing to send up to 6,000 more soldiers to the front, who are expected to arrive as part of the third wave of deployment of its military units to Russia.

According to South Korean intelligence, since October 2024, North Korea has already transferred more than 13,000 soldiers to Russia, as well as weapons, to support the war against Ukraine.

This large-scale military alliance demonstrates the deepening cooperation between the two authoritarian regimes, which is increasingly influencing the course of hostilities.

As a reminder, Ukrainian intelligence has discovered that North Korea is continuously supplying Russia with huge amounts of ammunition — from artillery shells to ballistic missiles and multiple launch rocket systems, using sea, rail and air routes . Up to several million shells are supplied per month through just one targeted channel.

As reported, Russia is rapidly losing the remnants of Soviet arms stocks and is increasingly dependent on assistance from foreign allies. According to the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), supplies from Russian warehouses will be halved by the end of 2025. The focus is on active support from North Korea, Iran, and China, which effectively keep the Russian military machine in working order.
