Russian special services have temporarily disabled some of the video surveillance systems used to protect Vladimir Putin and his inner circle.
The Financial Times writes about this.
According to the publication’s interlocutors, the system was relaunched only after additional verification and attempts to isolate it from the Internet as much as possible.
The Kremlin fears that modern video data analysis technologies can be used to track the movements of high-ranking officials.
As the FT notes, Russian concerns have grown after Israeli intelligence operations in Iran. According to sources, the strikes may have been prepared using traffic camera footage, which helped to establish the travel routes of Iranian officials.
Against the backdrop of these events, the Russian authorities decided to conduct an additional audit of the security systems used to protect Putin.
