Kupyansk direction: the enemy is trying to break through to the city

The Russian army has intensified assaults in the Kupyansk direction and is trying to advance towards the city from both banks of the Oskil River.

According to the command officer of the 43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers have intensified attacks in the areas of Kivsharivka, Novoosynovo, Petropavlivka, and Novaya Kruglyakivka.

The military also spoke about an attempt at so-called “flag-raising.” A small group of Russians tried to break through to Kupyansk and plant the tricolor there.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed three invaders on the outskirts of the city. Two more reached the settlement and hid in a building, after which the Defense Forces struck it.

One of the Russian soldiers surrendered, the other died by jumping out of a window.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine warn that with the advent of the “green light”, the enemy will try to storm even more actively and break through to Kupyansk and Kupyansk-Vuzlovye.

It was previously reported that the situation in the Pokrovsky direction remains tense, especially in the area of Grishinoye, where Russian troops are trying to gain a foothold and expand their offensive.

Recall that the Russian army has carried out several attacks on various sections of the front in recent days, but they do not have a significant impact on the course of the spring-summer offensive of 2026.
