The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has allowed the forced appearance of Serhiy Kuzminykh, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party, who again failed to appear at a court hearing in a bribery case.

This was reported by the VAKS.

The court granted the request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and ordered the deputy to be taken to one of the district courts of Zhytomyr to participate in the hearing via video conference or using technical means of communication.

According to “Ukrainian Pravda”, this is about Serhiy Kuzmin, who is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of 500 thousand hryvnias.

As Transparency International Ukraine notes, Kuzminykh and his lawyer once again failed to appear in court. The lawyer requested that the hearing be postponed, explaining the deputy’s absence by the sharp deterioration in his health and his hospitalization the day before.

After the decision was made, the court adjourned to organize the execution of the order.

The Kuzmins’ case has been pending for several years. In late July, law enforcement officers detained the deputy after he repeatedly ignored court hearings for almost four years.

After his arrest, the VAKS chose a preventive measure for him in the form of 24-hour house arrest and collected bail in the state’s revenue.

The trial is currently ongoing.

As a reminder, NABU detectives detained MP Serhiy Kuzminykh, who is accused of abuse of influence and receiving illegal benefits for assisting private companies in winning tenders for the supply of medical equipment in the Zhytomyr region . The detention took place in compliance with the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court due to the defendant’s systematic failure to appear at court hearings.

As reported, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure of 24-hour house arrest on Serhiy Kuzminy, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party.
