Russia has modernized universal guidance and correction modules, which allows it to use aerial bombs in a new way.
This was stated by Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense’s Department of Defense, during the RBC-Ukraine forum “Energy that Holds Ukraine”.
He noted that during September-October, the Russians developed aerial bombs with new control modules and have already entered final combat testing.
With the help of modernized weapons, the Russian Federation will be able to strike at rear cities, as its radius of application is about 200 kilometers. In particular, according to intelligence data, during the latest tests of the bomb, the Russians reached a range of 193 kilometers.
Skibitsky noted that the enemy launched the first such strikes on the Dnieper River, and now similar attacks are being observed in other cities.
“This is exactly the approach that the Russian Federation is taking — increasing range, increasing immunity to our electronic warfare systems, and other technical issues that allow strikes to be carried out at a greater distance,” he added.
The Russians are currently beginning to mass-produce modernized aerial bombs.
It is worth noting that cities such as Kyiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Kryvyi Rih may suffer from new air bombs, as the distance to them from the borders of the Russian Federation or temporarily occupied territories is 200 kilometers or less.
By the way, today, October 20, the Air Force reported that a KAB was moving from Kharkiv region towards Poltava region. However, there was no information about the consequences of the hit or downing.
As a reminder, on Thursday, October 16, the Russian occupation army struck Mykolaiv with two guided aerial bombs .
