Kyiv and the region have been classified as high-risk areas: what will change?

Kyiv and Kyiv region have been included in the list of high-risk territories. Now local businesses will be able to insure their property against war risks and receive greater compensation.

This was announced by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky.

The new rules provide for compensation for fuel, agricultural machinery, transport for transporting goods, and other property destroyed or damaged as a result of the war.

For one enterprise, the maximum compensation for insurance costs was increased from UAH 3 million to UAH 5 million per year. The program was also extended to leased property, and the requirements for insurance contracts were simplified.

The changes also apply to preferential loans. Businesses will be able to take them to restore fuel and warehouse infrastructure, modernize processing enterprises, and replenish working capital in retail and wholesale trade.

The state will compensate 5.5% per annum of the bank’s base rate. The maximum loan amount for a group of related companies will be UAH 1 billion.
