Kyiv City Council supported the draft decision of Eurosolidarity on targeted assistance to citizens affected by Russian aggression
Kyiv residents who have suffered at the hands of the aggressor country will receive one-time targeted material assistance.
This was announced by the head of the European Solidarity faction in the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Prokopiv.
He said that the supported draft decision was initiated by the leader of the “EU” in the Kyiv City Council, Maryna Poroshenko, and it is a joint development together with the city mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko.
Speaking to the deputies of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Prokopiv said: “Today we must join forces more than ever and help Kyiv residents who have found themselves without electricity, water, and heat. And that is why we are coming out with this initiative. This is the moment when we must show Kyiv residents not political flags, but unity and responsibility.”
According to the project, Kyiv residents whose apartments have had water or heating systems destroyed or damaged as a result of enemy attacks will receive one-time targeted assistance in the amount of 40,000 hryvnias per household.
Prokopiv emphasized that this is “not a symbolic payment, but real funds for assistance.”
“Second. Additional targeted assistance to low-income Kyiv residents who suffered from shelling in the amount of one subsistence minimum for able-bodied people. For these people, this is not an abstract figure — it is food, medicine, and the opportunity to survive the winter,” the deputy explained.
According to him, the assistance is financed within the framework of the city program “Caring. Towards the people of Kyiv.”
“Today is not the time to argue, not the time to hide behind formulations. Today is the time to unite and help people. To demonstrate that the Kyiv City Council is able to be united at a critical moment,” Prokopiv summarized.
