Kyiv is under missile attack again: explosions were heard in the capital

On the morning of August 16, Kyiv came under further air attack. The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning about a missile heading toward the capital, after which explosions were heard throughout the city.

Around 9:49 a.m., explosions were heard in the capital. At the time of the initial reports, there was no information regarding the type of missile or the consequences of the attack.

The attack occurred following Russia’s massive overnight strikes on Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, and other regions of Ukraine. According to air force data, Russia used missiles and 106 attack drones in the overnight attack, some of which were destroyed or suppressed.
