The capital’s metro is testing the “green” line’s operation algorithm during air alerts. If a yellow level threat is declared, trains will run without restrictions via the Southern Bridge.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
It is known that on Wednesday, September 9, a new operating procedure during the yellow threat level is being tested on the Syretsko-Pechersk metro line.
In the event of a red-level air alert, train movement on the ground will be suspended. Passengers will need to leave the train at underground stations and wait out the danger in shelter.
At this time, trains will run on two sections: “Syrets” – “Vydubychi” and “Osokorky” – “Chervony Khutir”.
The metro noted that specialists are completing the verification of safety algorithms and interaction between drivers, dispatchers and station workers. From September 10, the new order will be in effect on a permanent basis, and during the yellow threat level, the “green” line will operate without restrictions.
In particular, information about the operating hours is announced in cars and at stations. Passengers are urged to follow the messages and follow the instructions of metro employees.
In addition, Ukraine will introduce two levels of air alert, depending on the nature of the threat. During a “yellow” alert, businesses will be able to continue operating, while a “red” alert will require them to stop and people to take shelter.
