In Kyiv, in the coming days, they plan to gradually switch from emergency to hourly power outages and reach projected schedules of up to 3-4 shifts.
This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal following the results of the regular meeting of the energy headquarters.
According to him, the situation in the capital’s power system remains difficult due to a significant capacity shortage. At the same time, thanks to the coordinated work of Ukrenergo and distribution system operators, a tendency towards partial stabilization is being recorded.
Shmyhal stressed that the main task for the coming days is to abandon emergency shutdowns in Kyiv and switch to forecasted hourly schedules. To this end, additional reserve teams are being formed to strengthen emergency and restoration work.
Separately, the minister reported on the state of distributed generation in Kyiv and the region. According to the results of verification of cogeneration plants, only a third of the commissioned capacities are currently actually supplying electricity to the network.
According to Shmyhal, interaction with the city authorities in this direction is ongoing, and all installed installations should be used to stabilize the capital’s power supply. The government continues to work to restore the predicted outage schedules as soon as possible and reduce the burden on Kyiv residents.
As previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has introduced additional programs to support small and medium-sized businesses in the face of an emergency energy situation caused by Russian shelling.
