The European Solidarity faction is the most useful in the Verkhovna Rada – 47% of Kyiv residents think so. According to the KIIS poll , the Voice faction is in second place, 41% of respondents evaluate it positively.

As for other factions/groups, the overwhelming majority of residents of the capital expressed the opinion that their activities are not useful for the country. Thus, in the case of the “Servant of the People” faction, 69% consider its activities useless, in the case of “Rodina” – 77%, in the case of groups based on the OPZZh – 85%.

A total of 71% of all Kyiv residents consider the activities of at least one faction in parliament to be beneficial for the country.
As the executive director of KIIS A. Grushetsky notes in his commentary, the majority of residents of the capital see forces in parliament as truly carrying out useful activities for the country and this is one of the fuses of complete disappointment in this institution. We have observed a similar situation at the national level.

“Ukrainians often criticize the Verkhovna Rada and this institution is traditionally characterized by low trust among the population. At the same time, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians (74%) believe that Ukraine should have an influential parliament. The development of a strong democratic Ukraine is impossible without a strong, effective parliament that will enjoy the trust of the population. sociologist.

The survey was conducted from July 25 to August 3, 2025, using computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI). The error does not exceed 4.6%.

In nationwide surveys conducted by KIIS earlier, more respondents also positively assessed the “EU” faction – 35% believe that its activities are beneficial to Ukraine. The leader of “EU” Petro Poroshenko was called the leader of the opposition by the most respondents.

Next come the factions “Voice” (25% believe that its activities are beneficial to Ukraine) and “Batkivshchyna” (24%). In the case of the faction “Servant of the People”, 19% give a positive assessment. As for the group “Platform for Life and Peace”, 17% believe that its activities are beneficial to Ukraine.

In total, more than half of respondents – 59% – positively assess the activities of at least one faction from the list (in December 2024, this figure was 55%).

Another KIIS poll finds that Ukrainians prefer a democratic system. Stably, more than 90% of Ukrainians want to see Ukraine as a fully functioning democracy. The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians (74%) believe that Ukraine should have an influential parliament, which should at least give consent to the President’s appointment of the Government and have the ability to dismiss it (27% of them, and the remaining 47% see an even stronger role in parliament).
