Large number of personnel and equipment: Russians are preparing a “decisive breakthrough” in the Donetsk region
In recent weeks, Russian occupation forces have adjusted their tactics in the Pokrovskoye direction and are trying to break into the city.
This was reported by the press service of the 7th Corps of the State Security Service.
In particular, the occupiers are making attempts, using individuals or small groups, to infiltrate as deep as possible into Pokrovsk, without coming into combat contact with the advanced positions of the Defense Forces.
As the military explained, the enemy’s goal is to approach Ukrainian drone operators or mortars, “disperse” them, and also consolidate them in new positions and expand the “gray zone.”
At the same time, the Russians, trying to cut off the Ukrainian defenders’ logistical routes and surround Pokrovsk, are carrying out flank assaults using armored and motorized vehicles.
Instead, the enemy reduced the number of air strikes on “zero” positions, but increased shelling of civilian targets.
“According to available information, Russia plans to use its group in the Donetsk region for the so-called “decisive breakthrough” using a large number of personnel and equipment. The enemy’s key goal remains unchanged – the capture of the Pokrovsk-Kramatorsk-Slovyansk agglomeration,” the 7th Corps of the DSHV said.
In turn, the Ukrainian military uses available forces and means to destroy Russian army equipment.
Earlier, the Russian command identified a new operational goal in the Donetsk region – during the fall, the occupation forces will try to capture Pokrovsk, Myrnograd, and Dobropillya.
As a reminder, the Russian occupation forces have begun a large-scale regrouping of forces at the front, as evidenced by the redeployment of marines and paratroopers towards the Donetsk region . Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) predict that in the fall of 2025, the Russian command will try to capture the remains of the Donetsk region.
