A large-scale forest fire is being extinguished in the Exclusion Zone and on the territory of the Polesie Nature Reserve. As of 5:00 p.m., the fire has covered 1,200 hectares, but rescuers assure that the situation is under control.
This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.
The State Emergency Service noted that the spread of the fire is facilitated by dry weather and strong gusts of wind. 374 people were involved in extinguishing the fire, of which 253 were State Emergency Service rescuers.
In the territory of the Polesie Nature Reserve, rescuers and foresters continue to extinguish individual forest floor fires. The work is being carried out to prevent further spread and spread of the fire.
The State Emergency Service reported that personnel rotation was carried out to ensure continuous work.
The situation is also being monitored from the air. Drones are being used to monitor the area and identify possible smoldering areas.
