Large-scale fire in the Chernobyl zone: the fire is spreading rapidly
A large-scale forest fire is raging in the Exclusion Zone in the Kyiv region, which has already covered over 1,100 hectares. Due to strong winds and dry weather, the fire is rapidly spreading to new areas of the forest, which is complicating the work of rescuers.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
According to rescuers, the situation is being complicated by gusts of wind, which are literally spreading the flames throughout the forest.
“The fire is rapidly spreading across the territory, covering new blocks of forest,” the State Emergency Service noted.
Emergency services, special equipment, and other services are involved in extinguishing the fire. Rescuers are working in an intensive mode, trying to localize the sources of ignition and prevent the fire from spreading further.
At the same time, some areas remain inaccessible for liquidation due to the risk of explosives. Work there is temporarily restricted for safety reasons.
The State Emergency Service emphasizes that the situation remains difficult, but control over the main sources of ignition is gradually strengthening.
