On Monday, September 1, the largest exercise of the country’s Armed Forces this year, “Iron Defender-25”, began in Poland, in which more than 30 thousand servicemen from Poland and allied countries are taking part.
RMF 24 reports this.
The maneuvers are taking place at the training grounds in Orzisz, Ustka and Nowa Demba, as well as outside military facilities – on the so-called “suitable terrain.” About 600 units of military equipment are involved in the exercises.
“We will test our readiness for defense on land, at sea and in the air,” the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces emphasized.
Particular attention is paid to testing new weapons systems and reconnaissance equipment, as well as integrating actions in land, air, sea and cyberspace. The Polish military notes that they are actively taking into account the experience gained by Ukraine in the war against Russia.
The General Staff emphasized that the exercises are federal in nature, that is, they consist of a series of smaller-scale coordinated maneuvers united by common goals.
According to the publication, “Iron Defender-25” is being considered as a response to the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises “West-2025”, which are scheduled for September.
Earlier it became known that the first Russian troops are already in Belarus ; they will take part in joint exercises, the active phase of which is scheduled for September.
It should be noted that, as part of the joint military exercises between Minsk and Moscow , the Russians have transferred echelons of equipment to Belarus .
