The mayor of the Latvian city of Orge, Egils Gelmanis, was injured as a result of Russian shelling.
This was reported by the city municipality, LSM.lv reports.
Egils Helmanis was on a business trip, where, together with other supporters of Ukraine, he delivered vehicles and other assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Such trips are regularly on the mayor’s agenda, even since 2022, since the very beginning of the war, a significant number of cars have been donated and brought every few months, this time about 20 cars,” said municipality representative Patrick Griva.
It is noted that due to the secrecy of humanitarian aid delivery routes, it will not be highlighted where Mayor Orge was injured.
Latvian media, citing sources in Ukraine, report that Gelmanis’ health is not in danger.
It was previously reported that on the night of Wednesday, July 16, Vinnytsia was subjected to a massive attack by enemy drones . As a result of the strikes, several civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, as well as residential buildings in the region’s communities.
It is worth noting that on July 16 , Kryvyi Rih also came under a massive attack from Russia. The occupiers launched a combined attack using a ballistic missile and 28 Shahed attack drones .
